If you cast your eye over the IMDB cast list, you'll notice that Michael Cassidy (the photojournalist who accompanies Lois Lane on her idiotic desert adventure) was playing Jimmy Olsen. Yep, the mild-mannered side-kick/whipping boy of the Daily Planet office was beefed up and turned into a special agent of the CIA before being unceremoniously killed off for effect. According to Snyder, they did it because they didn't have room for him: talk about your disrespectful, unnecessary deaths. It doesn't even count as a spoiler: Jimmy isn't even afforded a name in the film (besides the credits), and his death appears to have been a joke to Snyder. Seriously, what the f*ck?!
