After Hughes leaves, Dwight is clearly proud that his idea has been beloved so much by the potential future President. Boss agrees with Dwight, telling him that he deserves all the credit, as the two embrace for what appears to be a tender moment. Unsurprisingly, of course, Boss pulls out his gun and blasts Dwight in the head, splattering his brains all over the hospital bed. Boss then wipes his prints off the gun and leaves it by the body, implying that Dwight instead killed himself. The film ends with Boss presiding over the prison centipede, screaming madly from a megaphone as the torture continues. In short: the bad guy wins.
