When the first information and images surfaced of the third film, fans were surprised to find out that both Dieter Laser and Laurence R. Harvey, the protagonists from each previous movie, would be returning. After all, Laser's demented doctor is killed off at the end of the first film, and Harvey's new character looks completely different to the one he played prior, so what's going on? Well, Six decided to re-use the same actors again to play completely different characters: this time Laser is Bill Boss, the warden of the notorious central prison, and Harvey plays Dwight, his under-appreciated accountant. Let's face it: by sheer premise alone, a movie like this can only cast actors from a very limited pool, so who can blame Six for recycling cast members?
