28 Weeks Later screening tonight!

Ok, so I'm off to a screening of 28 Weeks Later tonight so you can expect my full review most likely sometime tommorrow. As the film I believe marks the first one which we have followed all the way since it was greenlit back in July up until it's release this week, I thought it would be pretty cool to see the progression of the film in dragging out some articles from the archives....

July 27th 2006 - 28 Weeks Later is Greenlighted -

Although I enjoyed 28 days later, i never thought it was half as good as it€™s hype and certainly wasn€™t a movie that warranted a sequel.

August 24th 2006 - Renner to join 28 Weeks Later -

As expected, Cillian Murphy doesn€™t look like he will be returning for the sequel, now that he has become quite a big star as of late. I€™m not very hopeful of this being a good movie and this casting choice doesn€™t excite me one bit.

August 31st 2006 - Lost star joins 28 Weeks Later -

I€™m surprised that this movie has actually managed to sign a semi-star to appear in it. I fully expected it to go with complete unknowns but this casting has to be seen as success for the movie as Perrineau is just starting to make a name for himself in Lost and was great in his small role in The Matrix sequels.

September 4th 2006 - Robert Carlyle joins 28 Weeks Later

I really did think that this sequel sounded doomed for straight to dvd release, but they have actually managed to put a decent cast together.

October 2nd 2006 - 28 Weeks Later script review

I like how they are going apocalyptic with the movie and that they kept the format of having a small number of characters who must work together in order to survive.

January 7th 2007 - 28 Weeks Later pics

Sure, the concept of a post-apoclayptic zombie world is very cool, but it was done perfectly fine in the first movie. Move on! I just can€™t see where a sequel of 28 Days Later can really go.

March 20th 2007 - 28 Weeks Later poster!

I am extremely surprised the poster looks good.

March 27th 2007 - 28 Weeks Later trailer

It€™s atmospheric. It FEELS real, which the first movie did so well portraying and I wanna see this insane military war against the infection which is hinted at towards the end.

April 6th 2007 - 28 Weeks Later International trailer€. HOLY CRIPES€.

It€™s so eerie seeing this after those terrorist bombings in London back in 2005, and although I usually hate popular records in movie trailers€. that Muse record works so well for this.

April 14th 2007 - 28 Weeks Later poster

Four weeks to go now until the movie opens. Watch it be rubbish now that I€™ve got myself all looking forward to seeing it, after initally dimissing it as a horrible idea!
