After Mr. Freeze prepares to fly out of the museum in a rocket, Batman stows aboard and is attacked by Freeze. Once the ship is in the air, Freeze fires his freeze-gun at Batman, forming icy handcuffs which prevent him from moving. So, rather than just freeze him with the gun (which would kill him in just over 10 minutes if the capsule's explosion somehow didn't), why did Freeze take such a cack-handed measure to dealing with Batman? Of course, in the end, Robin showed up after Freeze bailed and used a heat-ray to melt the ice-cuffs.
