29 WTF Moments From Spectre

10. Franz Oberhauser's Late Arrival

Franz Oberhauser's first scene in the movie occurs when Bond heads to Rome in the first act. During the Spectre meeting, he appears in shadowy form, says a few words and disappears again in less than 5 minutes. He's only first introduced into the movie properly at about the 100-minute mark, after Bond and Swann exit their train and await a lift to the co-ordinates Mr. White gave them. Mindfully, Oberhauser in fact sent a car to pick them up and bring them to his compound. They're shown to their quarters and are then taken to a dark room in which a giant egg statue resides, with Oberhauser then stepping out of the shadows to confront the two. Still, given how much hype surrounded Waltz's part, many will be disappointed to learn that he's in the film for a total of less than 25 minutes, only getting a marginal amount of screen time more than Mr. Hinx, which is pretty ridiculous really. Sure, more can be done with him in future films, but this just felt like an unfair tease, especially considering that the film had no other charismatic villains to speak of.
