3 Ups & 7 Downs From The Legend Of Tarzan

2. Too Much Talking, Not Enough Action

Holy hell, is this film talky or what? Most surely went into the film hoping that it'd be an action-packed adventure low on expository dialogue and high on character banter... but sadly that's not the case at all.

The first act in particular is front-loaded with so much expository gassing that by the time it finally gets to some substantial action, the film may have already lost you.

While the action that is there isn't particular captivating, it does at least provide some relief from the at-times relentless chatter, little of it witty or compelling, but mostly just mechanical plot dumps and botched attempts at character development.
