Though we love to complain about unnecessary movie reboots, such as with the Amazing Spider-Man franchise, the Fantastic Four series is actually a prime candidate for a new lick of paint, considering how disappointing both of the last two efforts have been. With a director of Josh Trank's (Chronicle) obvious talent at the helm, this new take on the legendary superheroes could be just the gritty, controlled movie we were always hoping for. Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell play Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm respectively, while Toby Kebbell while play Victor Von Doom. While these casting choices are obviously trying to fashion a younger, more "hip" Fantastic Four movie, hopefully Trank can do so without losing the essence of what makes these characters so much fun in the first place. As long as it's not as goofy as the Tim Story movies, then we'll probably look upon it favourably. Predicted Rotten Tomatoes Score: 64%
20. Inside Out (June 19)
Pixar sure have something to prove with their next film, considering their previous three efforts, Cars 2, Brave and Monsters University, just haven't been up to the Pixar standard we've been spoiled with in movies like WALL-E, Up and Toy Story 3. With Up director Pete Docter tackling an ambitious and impressive idea, there's certainly the potential here for another Pixar masterpiece, as Inside Out follows 11-year-old Riley, who is struggling to deal with her emotions, Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith), when her father gets a new job and moves her to San Francisco. As Riley adjusts to her new life, the emotions, which live in their own "HQ" inside Riley's mind, try to help her with the transition, which certainly has plenty of potential to take viewers on their own emotional journey that will see them consulting their inner child. With a cracking voice cast, a live-wire concept and two of Pixar's brightest at the helm (Toy Story 3 writer Michael Ardnt penned the script), expectations are unashamedly through the roof.
