30 Greatest Star Wars Characters

Captain Rex and Ahsoka Tano may be the most beloved Clone Wars characters around, but they aren't quite as formidable as Asajj Ventress.

First introduced in Genndy Tartakovsky's criminally overlooked Clone Wars TV series, Ventress starts out as the secret apprentice of Count Dooku before being betrayed by her master in a show of loyalty to Sidious. This eventually leads Ventress to become a bounty hunter in Coruscant's underworld, where she takes contracts for the right price.

There were plenty of reasons why Ventress resonated the way she did, among the most principle being her flirtatious back-and-forth with Obi-Wan Kenobi, but there's no underestimating just how brilliantly designed the character was. Add to that one fantastic performance from Nika Futterman, an epic end in the must-read Star Wars: Dark Disciple, and you have just about the best EU character introduced this side of 2000.
