Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is one of the most affecting tales set in a galaxy far, far away, and though there are plenty of brilliant characters that feature, one of the absolute best has to be Alan Tudyk's K-2SO.
An Imperial security droid reprogrammed by the Rebel Alliance, K-2SO is smart, sarcastic, and the perfect foil to Diego Luna's Cassian Andor. He steals pretty much every scene he's in, and ended up having one of the most emotional deaths of the film, perishing in a hail of blasterfire while Jyn Erso and Cassian moved to steal the plans for the Death Star.
Most deaths in that film were pretty hard to take, but K2's may have been the most emotional. A key droid had never died in a main Star Wars film until Rogue One, and it was unexpectedly tragic.

In his current role, Ewan incorporates his love of cinema, comic books, and history into written pieces and video essays for WhatCulture's Film & TV channel, as well as WhatCulture Gaming and WhatCulture Horror, with a particular focus on nineties-era Dad Movies, old school Westerns, and Golden Age Hollywood Noir.
