Steve McQueen 12 Years A Slave
Fox Searchlight

Steve McQueen hasn't had a movie released since 2013's Oscar-winning 12 Years A Slave, which is far too long for such a talented director who is yet to make a bad film. Thankfully, his next project sounds like it'll be worth the wait.

Loosely based on 80s series of the same name, Widows is a thriller that will see four armed robbers killed in a heist attempt, only for their widows to step up and finish the job.

It's a slight departure from McQueen's previous work, but it's an exciting change that he should easily be able to handle, and be capable of making something both thrilling but also with lots of depth. The cast is very impressive too, including Viola Davis, Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Rodriguez, Cynthia Erivo, Collin Farrel, Liam Neeson, Daniel Kaluuya, and Jon Bernthal among many others.

Release Date: November 16
