Who's Involved: Ridley Scott is returning to direct, while the original movie's surviving characters, played by Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender, will be back also. The script was written by Jack Paglen (Transcendence) and is being re-written by Michael Green (Smallville, Green Lantern). What's It About: Elizabeth Shaw (Rapace) and body-less android David (Fassbender) venture to the Engineer homeworld in order to find out why they want to destroy humanity. Why We Should Care: Because while the original movie disappointed a lot of people, there's a very interesting direction for this sequel to go, especially if it moves further away from the Alien mythos and stands more on its own two feet. When's It Due: The current date is March 4, 2016, but with shooting nowhere near ready to begin and an expectedly lengthy post-production period, it'll probably get moved back to at least the summer.
