Columbia Pictures

Release Date: December 22nd

Billed As:

A sci-fi comedy drama starring Matt Damon and Kristen Wiig as a couple at the bleeding edge of a global scheme to shrink everyone to help ease humanity's burden on the Earth. Like Honey I Shrunk Our Carbon Footprint.

Hype:

The appeal here is all about the premise, which takes in major issues like ecology and over-population and promises some good old fashioned adventurous fun. Add on top of that a great cast, the wonderful Alexander Payne as director and it all sounds pretty golden - particularly as Damon and Wiig should share beautiful, charming chemistry.

There's a SLIGHT worry that the film took 13 years to be made - with two spent on the script alone after Payne made Sideways - but let's just hope that's more to do with refinement than problems in genesis.
