Pentagon Papers Nyt
New York Times

Release Date: December 22nd

Billed As:

The perfectly timed story of a disgraceful governmental cover-up spanning four presidencies, as Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks combine to tell the tale of the Pentagon Papers. This generation's All The President's Men, if we're lucky.

Hype:

Tom Hanks directed by Steven Spielberg is a big selling point on its own, but the fact that we get to see that as a sideshow to Meryl Streep playing Washington Post publisher Kay Graham and Hanks playing Ben Bradlee is even better.

This is the kind of film we need to see in a Trump-powered world, with the kind of cast that sells tickets alone and an incredibly alluring story of political intrigue and moral integrity. The New York Times might not approve (as the paper's involvement has been downplayed apparently), but it should be a tense treat for everyone else.
