8. Jack Nicholson Had Contractually Limited Shooting Hours

By most accounts Jack Nicholson was a bit of a diva on the set of Batman, spending most of his downtime partying into the early hours, such that he'd come to set hungover every day and sleep his boozing off while makeup was applied to his unconscious face.

On the days that he was sober enough to be awake during make-up, he'd also have interns play tapes of sporting events from the previous night that he'd asked them to record.

But the biggest kicker of all? Nicholson's contract specified that he would have a set number of hours off between leaving the set and arriving the next day, and that he was allowed time off to watch Los Angeles Lakers home games.

Nicholson's performance was absolutely worth it, of course, but between this and his eventually colossal pay-day, he really took the production for everything he could.
