30 Truly Awful Lines That Ruined Comic Book Movies
12. "I know, right...!" - Green Lantern
Again, a stupid line played for laughs, this time trading on Ryan Reynold's ability to mix wide-eyed glee with snark, which gives his exclamation a mix of both Monica and Chandler from Friends. The whole movie was built, rather inconceivably on Reynold's on-screen persona in other movies, so instead of the everyman hero we should have got, we pretty much got Van Wilder in a leotard, via Top Gun.
11. "How about 'Slippery When Wet?'" - Batman & Robin
It doesn't help Poison Ivy's cause in Batman & Robin that she is perpetually playing catch-up to both Bane and Mr Freeze in the terrible villain stakes, but she does have some particularly bad zingers that ensure that she doesn't get completely overlooked when everyone is spitting fury about Arnie's Mr Freeze. This retort to Robin, who asks for a sign that she's changed, makes no sense in context, or in terms of her usual horticultural puns, and seems only to be an oddly sexy hint at the vamp behind the costume, but not in a particularly pleasant way.
