30 Truly Awful Lines That Ruined Comic Book Movies

4. "Despite all your talents, you are still a novice in the ways of family. Master Dick follows the same star as you but gets there by his own course. You must learn to trust him, for that is the nature of family." - Batman & Robin

Another horrendously on the nose Batman moment, this time from Alfred, posturing that Robin's rogue behaviour is admirable, and not as damaging as Batman thinks (and in fact as it proves to be in the end, before Robin falls into line.) Alfred, usually the stoic model of virtue and principle, who would clearly be committed to regiment and order, unwittingly becomes a mouth-piece for disaffected, almost punk-rock youth.

3. " Do you know what happens to a toad that gets stuck by lighting? The same thing that happens to everything else" - X-Men

The majority of Storm's lines in the original X-Men trilogy are surprisingly cheesy considering the usual majesty of the character, and the way she carries herself, and it doesn't help that Halle Berry was definitely on the down-turn when she brought the character to the screen. This baffling line, designed as some sort of iconic quip in the old tradition of action movies makes very little sense, throwing a bucket of water on the set-up and hardly reinforcing the cool of the character as was clearly intended.
