31 Horror Movies To Watch This October

27. The Invisible Man

She Dies Tomorrow
Universal Pictures

Leigh Whannell's The Invisible Man turned out a good deal better than most were surely expecting, with the writer-director ingeniously reinventing the classic movie monster as a spectre of spousal abuse.

Elisabeth Moss gives a masterful performance as beleaguered protagonist Cecilia, selling the character's inner torment exceptionally well, while Whannell wrings every last penny out of his mere $7 million budget with his impressively stylish direction.

Like so many of the best horror films, The Invisible Man is deeply disconcerting while also passing thoughtful commentary on issues unfolding in the world around us.

The Invisible Man is out now on VOD.
