31 Horror Movies You Must Watch This October 2022
20. Barbarian
Unquestionably one of the most buzzed-about horror films of the year is Zach Cregger's Barbarian, which takes a fairly familiar horror movie setup and - if stateside reviews can be believed - runs wildly with it.
Barbarian follows a woman, Tess (Georgina Campbell), who discovers that her Airbnb rental has been double-booked by a man, Keith (Bill SkarsgÄrd).
From there, Cregger's film leaps off to become a bracingly subversive and unexpected horror that's been deemed a breath of fresh air by critics and horror fans alike.
The consensus on this one is to know as little as possible going in, which for British horror fans is especially challenging given that it doesn't hit UK cinemas until the end of October. Do yourself a favour and mute Barbarian on Twitter to avoid having the fun spoiled.
Barbarian is out now in US cinemas, and hits UK cinemas on October 28.
