27. Elsa Pataky's Awful Haircut...And Even Worse Acting
Elsa Pataky's Elena is relegated to two glorified cameo scenes in Furious 7, and given that her character's function pretty much ceased to exist by the end of the last movie, it makes sense. Here her role consists simply of getting a letter of recommendation from Hobbes (Dwayne Johnson), giving him an excuse to get blown out of a window by Deckard Shaw, and then handing him files on Shaw while he's laid up in the hospital. It's a distracting role because a) Pataky's short hair really doesn't suit her all, and b) her line readings are distractingly bad. Granted, you can't really do much with placeholder dialogue like "Thanks Hobbes. Thanks for everything", but she doesn't ever really manage to convince that she's not just reading some words on a piece of paper, even though her work in the two previous movies was just fine.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
