Here's something you'll probably only catch on a second viewing. Early on in the movie, moments before the Toretto home is blown to smithereens, Mia (Jordana Brewster), Brian (Paul Walker) and their young son Jack are getting ready to go somewhere, when Jack throws a red toy car onto the pavement. The camera takes a moment to focus on the car, just as Brian tells his son, "Cars don't fly", an obvious two-pronged reference to the fact that Dom and Brian make a car "fly" through three skyscrapers in the Abu Dhabi sequence later on (and Brian tells him, "Cars don't fly, Dom!"). Nobody expects much visual wit from these movies, but that's a pretty smart dose of foreshadowing to reward those watching it a second or third time.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
