Because a lazy sequel is a lazy sequel, The Lost World took the rather predictable sequel route of telling fans, "You thought you knew it all... but you didn't!", by explaining that a second island, Isla Sorna, described by John Hammond as the "factory floor" of Jurassic Park, also existed. This Site B contains more dinosaurs which have been allowed to flourish undisturbed, but, oh yeah, what about that Lysine contingency which formed such a substantial fail-safe of the first movie? Yeah, the dinosaurs are thriving for no reason now, so just forget about it and accept that this sequel wants to take your money at any and all costs. The Lost World is far from a great film throughout, but this extremely lazy set-up in particular is difficult to ignore.
