28. Ellie & Alan Don't End Up Together (Jurassic Park III)

Though it's not explicitly stated in the original movie, it's rather heavily implied that Ellie and Alan are a couple, and that film ends with the presumption that Alan has finally conquered his pathological fear of children, giving the pair a happy ending where they'll probably start a family. One of Jurassic Park III's big problems is that it tramples all over this by having Ellie be married to State Department employee Mark Degler, and adding insult to injury by teasing in the movie's opening moments that Ellie and Alan were still together. It doesn't really make much sense to split them up, other than that Alan would seem like a major douche for upping and leaving his two infant children for the movie's expedition, and that the husband gives Alan a convenient method to get saved at the film's climax. Everyone was rooting for Alan and Ellie, and this is just so unsatisfying in a movie that prides itself on seemingly annoying fans as much as possible.
