24. The Kirbys & Their Idiotic Plan (Jurassic Park III)
It's a pretty close call for who the most annoying characters in the third movie are, but it probably goes to Amanda (Tea Leoni) and Paul Kirby (William H. Macy), the former couple who trick Alan into heading to Isla Sorna to help locate their disappeared son Eric. The whole set-up is monumentally lame and stupid, given that a) Alan is a paleontologist, not a soldier and b) he's only been on Isla Nublar, not Site B. Then there's the frequent goofiness of their characters, that Paul in fact just runs a tile business and doesn't have the cash to pay Alan what he promised, and Amanda's near-constant shouting of "Eric!" Then there's the fact that Amanda seems curiously un-fussed about the death of her boyfriend Ben (after an initial freak-out), and the cringe-inducingly forced romantic rekindling between Amanda and Paul as the movie wears on. What an awful waste of two talented actors these thoroughly irritating characters were.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
