In one of the film's few genuinely well-staged action beats, the Sharknado attacks the Daytona NASCAR racetrack, flying down and smashing into the cars, causing a huge pile-up as the stunned crowd of 250,000 fans look on. A number of racers get out of their cars and are eaten, before Fin and Nova drop their plane's external tank into the storm and fire at it, detonating it and again dissipating the Sharknado. Disguising the ropey CGI underneath a lot of car smoke, the sharks actually blend in surprisingly well with the stock footage of the race, even if the CGI plane and storm still look as reliable awful as fans expect (and probably want).
