6. Nitrous Oxide Use 21 Years Before The Fast & The Furious (The Road Warrior)
In the climactic chase sequence, as Wez attempts to catch up to Max in Humungus' vehicle, he uses Nitrous Oxide to gain speed, something which was again used in the Fast and the Furious in 2001, kick-starting an entire culture of movies, video games and real-life racing centered around using the gas to attain higher vehicular speeds. Mad Max 2 preceded it by a whole 21 years, though, which is all the more amusing considering that Fury Road was being heavily advertised in front of Furious 7 screenings. As great as the Furious franchise is, don't incorrectly assume that those guys came up with the idea independently. This movie almost certainly influenced them.
