Of course we all realize Boogie Nights is a stunning film, especially for a 27 year old, Magnolia carries even more emotional power, and Punch Drunk Love is a crafty experimental picture. But with There Will Be Blood, the epic scope and storytelling power of Anderson reached new heights. And judging by the early reactions to The Master, I expect nothing less here. Anderson has grown more powerful and more confident with each and every frame he shoots, and there are any number of reasons why.
