1. Being A Morbid, Whiney Person Is Attractive
For those of you who havent seen the Twilight films or dont know anything about the character of Bella, youre quite lucky but Im now going to infect your mind with that information anyway. Bella is a horrible person. Shes dull, shes self-deprecating, she complains about everything but yet somehow, despite all of this, everybody loves her and they all think shes just tip-top. I mean, look at that picture. Anyone who looks that depressed on their wedding day either doesn't want to get married or is stupidly, ridiculously difficult to please. This just further demonstrates how much of Stephanie Meyers fantasy this is. She was obviously the same morbid, emo kind of person that Bella is described to be, only nobody actually liked her, so she felt the need to slip into this fantasy novel where somebody with her personality traits is actually the most popular girl in school. Apparently Edward cant read Bellas mind as he can with everybody elses. Maybe thats because he uses facial cues to help him do it and Bella only really seems to have one facial expression; the oh no, not again expression. I dont know if this is because Kristen Stewart is an abysmal actress or if this is how Bella is written in the books but either way its not exactly something that makes for a very likeable main character. But of course, the girls who are actually like Bella in real life, the ones who complain about nice weather and the ones who hate school and everybody in it, theyre the kind of people who are going to watch this film and think that their personality is actually endearing and its only a matter of time before they end up in an attractive love triangle and that everybody who doesnt think so is just wrong. People should be encouraged to have a nice personality with a good sense of humour, not just to stare blankly at everything and occasionally sigh with disappointment. There's probably a lot more and if I was willing to put myself through watching the rest of the series I'd have written them out. For those of you who've seen the whole series, are there any other things you think Twilight is telling people that are wrong? Let us know!
