Verone needs the police to stay off Brian and Roman's backs as they carry out work for him, so he tortures sleazy police detective Whitworth (Mark Boone Junior) by placing a gigantic rat on his chest and covering it with a bucket, the idea being that the rat will panic and start burrowing through Whitworth's chest. He uses a blowtorch to heat the bucket and further aggravate the rat, which helps make this scene come across as surprisingly sadistic for the franchise, but if nothing else, it's certainly an original way to make someone do something...
