8. The Original Movie Totally Rips Off Point Break

It didn't take long for even the first movie's biggest fans to note that it's basically just a rip-off of the 1991 Keanu Reeves-starring cult classic Point Break. In that movie, Reeves plays an FBI agent who goes undercover with a surfer gang who also commit bank robberies. He bonds with the leader (Patrick Swayze), and at the end of the movie, doesn't turn him in despite being perfectly able to. Granted, Swayze's character actually dies at the end of the movie, surfing into an un-survivable wave. Even so, the core plot is pretty much the same: he doesn't bring him to justice just as Brian doesn't Dom, and renounces his status as a police officer, just as Brian does in becoming a criminal (at least for a while).
