13. Mission: Impossible 6

At some point in the future, Paramount are going to have to concede that they need to stop dropping Tom Cruise out of things or onto things from a great height, which is when the Mission: Impossible series will grind to a sad halt. Until then though, they're pressing ahead with even more sequels, and hoping to squeeze as many insane stunts out of Cruise as possible.

This next film, which follows the lucrative but slightly disappointing Rogue Nation - sees the cast reunited (minus Jeremy Renner) and joined by Henry Cavill, Vanessa Kirby and Sian Brooke with director Christopher McQuarrie promising more focus on Ethan Hunt's personal life. That should help it feel deeper, after the lack of characterisation in the last couple of films, but if it comes at the expense of Cruise showing off how glorious his hair is during ridiculous stunts, it will be a major shame.
