4. Han Solo

Had you asked a couple of years ago, fans of Star Wars might well have balked at the prospect of seeing a Han Solo stand-alone movie, because of the unnecessary diluting effect it would have on the character's mysterious mythology. Part of his appeal lay in the mythos he bragged about, and the idea that we might one day get to actually see him do the Kessel Run was always pretty redundant.

But now, Rogue One has shown a model for prequels exploring well-known historical Star Wars events and still being completely spell-binding thank to a great cast and strong story-telling. And Han Solo is a far more charismatic character than any of the squadron, so this should be a treat.

It helps that the cast is excellent, and that there's lots of places the story could go (and the great suggestion it could basically be a space-set Indiana Jones with a criminal edge), so expect another billion dollar haul for LucasFilm.
