Who would ever have thought that the goofiest member of the Justice League would be the MVP of the DCEU even before his solo movie debut. Having made an immediate impact in the teaser footage of Justice League, Jason Momoa's bad-ass, big drinking water God looks like everything we could ever hope for from the character.

His stand-alone - which will push the limits of new underwater effects technology - sees him facing two foes, in Patrick Wilson's Ocean Master and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's Black Manta and embarking on what director James Wan calls a "swashbuckling action adventure... in the spirit of Raiders of the Lost Ark and Romancing the Stone." If you can't get excited over that, you've lost the spirit of cinema.

There's probably going to be another DCEU movie before it in 2018, but no matter what it is, it won't be as exciting as James Wan's subaquatic stand-alone.
