What else has he been in? Angel, Raising the Bar, Warehouse 13, Grey's Anatomy, The Mentalist Something of a wildcard idea and a huge outside shot, J. August Richards most notably played Charles Gunn - the one who 'liked hitting stuff' - in Joss Whedon's Angel TV series. It is this link that could put a guy like Richards in contention for a role in a Marvel movie, as a couple of other ex-Buffyverse stars can attest to (Jeremy Renner, Alexis Denisof). Richards has the looks, the charisma, the raw combat prowess, is only 39 years old, but is lacking the star power. If Black Panther is getting his own film, which seems likely, a casting of this nature would be impossible as it would require a real Hollywood star name. If Black Panther is going to be more of a supporting character like Hawkeye has been so far, something like this might not be so unrealistic. I wouldn't bet on it though. But, given the chance, I think Richards could surprise audiences.
