1. Holland Roden
This is it. Holland Roden is "it". She's got everything that anyone could ever want in Mary Jane. The beautiful red hair, the big bright eyes, the sex appeal, the comedic subtleties, the independence, strength and wit that when all combined into one person, produces the one and only Mary Jane Watson. Holland may be a much lesser known actress than the rest of the cast, but the series is becoming slightly reliant on this idea of "stunt-casting" big names. With Jamie Foxx as Electro, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, and B.J. Novak in an unspecified role, the films could definitely use a quieter name in order to prevent more clutter. Additionally, with a cast so large at this point, that also seems to be growing by the day, they're probably running a bit short on cash and need to conserve some for the bigger names they'll hopefully be getting for future sequels. Although Holland hasnt had very many serious acting roles yet, the resemblance between her and Mary Jane from the comics cannot be denied. After small parts in episodes of Lost, Cold Case, Weeds, Criminal Minds, and Greys Anatomy, Holland was able to find a role that suited all her strengths on MTVs Teen Wolf. She owns the scene every time she's on screen as the smart, funny, possible-witch, Lydia, and quickly became a fan-favorite on the under-appreciated teen horror-dramedy. A role like Mary Jane in a serious franchise like this could be her big break to superstardom.
