4. Robocop (1987)/Terminator (1984)
You would, of course, have to have lived in a ditch to not realise that this is already a thing in various other media sources. There were video games, comics and books released with the title of
Robocop Vs Terminator, but what we really wanted was a live action movie. The
Robocop Vs Terminator comic book's original storyline sees Skynet sending three Terminators back in time to Detroit to protect a turmoiled Robocop from a lone human soldier who had been sent back to destroy him. That's all well and good, but it makes the title somewhat deceptive. We want to see a Robocop facing off against a Terminator. So, imagine if you will that John and Sarah Connor are on the run and find themselves well hidden and standing out less in crime-riddled Detroit. That is when another 'Arnie model' T-800 is sent back to kill them. Who is there to protect them? Peter Weller's Robocop. The potential battle between the two iconic cyborgs - played by their classic actors - would be awesome and, given that it happened in various other sources, should definitely have occurred on screen.
