5 Bad Movies With Great Taglines

1. House of Wax (2005)

House of Wax tagline Elisha Cuthbert, Chad Michael Murray and Paris Hilton star in this pointless remake that takes the concept of the 1953 film (itself a sort-of remake of a 1933 film entitled Mystery of the Wax Museum) €“ the wax figurines in a museum are actually live people underneath €“ and turns it into a generic and formulaic teen-slasher flick. The tagline:€œOn May 6th€ see Paris die!€ The studio behind the film certainly weren€™t being coy when they okayed the above tagline, basically using the fact that Paris Hilton dies (in pretty spectacular fashion via a pole through the eye) to try and sell the movie to the public. The movie did okay at the box office, making $12 million in its opening weekend and $68 million worldwide overall, but it begs the question of how much of that attendance was down to the promise the tagline made?
