5 So Bad They're Good Movies You've Probably Never Seen

3. Viva Knievel (1977)

Viva Knevel From the people who brought you The Poseidon Adventure and The Towering Inferno comes a film where 70's icon Evel Knieval fights drug dealers. Yes this film actually exists. Beginning with Evel Knievel breaking into an orphanage to deliver Evel Knievel action figures, the master of the motorcycle then focuses his awesome energies on unlikely drug dealers Leslie Nielsen and Dabney Coleman. The man best known for his Naked Gun comedies in this film plans to kill Evel Knievel and smuggle millions of dollars worth of cocaine out of Mexico in Knievel's tour van. This movie feature an all star cast including Red Buttons, Gene Kelly and obligatory love interest (despite the fact the Kneviel was married in real life at the time) Lauren Hutton, fresh off her appearance in Burt Reynold's Gator. It also features: Evel Knievel portrayed as a nearly Christ like saint. All despite a real life rap sheet that among its greatest hits includes: Getting an earth mover to do a wheelie, driving into a power line and leaving the town of Butte, Montana powerless for hours Crashing a motorcycle following a police chase Poaching Attacking Shelly Saltman, author of the book "Evel Knieval on Tour," breaking his arm with an aluminum baseball bat while screaming, "I'm going to kill you!" Saltman's mother, suffered a heart attack after watching the news reports of the attack and died three months later. Knievel spent 3 months in jail and ducked paying the millions of dollars awarded to Saltman for the rest of his life.
