5 Best & 5 Worst Comic Book Movie Reboots

6. WORST - Catwoman

Catwoman Sharon Stone Halle Berry
Warner Bros.

Back before McDonalds killed our chance of seeing Tim Burton's Batman Forever (well, them and the toy manufacturers who struggled to sell any of his dark characters to the kiddies), there had been a plan to bring Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman back for her own movie. The plan even continued to be considered after Joel Schumacher had replaced Burton, as screenwriter John August revealed there was a project in 1998 that almost happened with Pfeiffer back in the lead.

Sadly, that didn't come to light (which is partly annoying as we were forever robbed of the scene one executive wanted in which Catwoman would wash another woman's hair "just because") and instead we got Halle Berry's 2004 abomination.

Warner Bros clearly believed in the brand power of the character so much that abandoning the lead, the actual specifics of the character and the established Batman universe and playing fast and loose with the course material was all deemed absolutely fine. The end result is a superhero versus makeup corporation story that absolutely nobody cared for.
