5 Cancelled Superhero Movies That Would Have Made Billions
2. George Miller's Justice League
George Miller is the undeniable genius behind the Mad Max movies, the most recent of which - Mad Max: Fury Road - recently cemented itself as one of the greatest action movies of the last few decades thanks to its raw aesthetics built from practical effects. But long before Warner Bros. put Zack Snyder in charge of the Justice League, it was George Miller himself who originally tried to get the DC superhero team-up movie into motion. Though it was eventually cancelled in 2008, knowing that it technically would been released into theatres after The Dark Knight - at the height of superhero fever - would have likely resulted in the film making tons of money: potential billions. The film, known today as Justice League: Mortal, would have featured iconic characters such as Superman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman, and would have even featured a huge fight scene between Superman and Wonder Woman (because why not?). Though the leaked script received mixed reviews, it's easy to see how the final version of this planned movie - in Miller's capable hands - could have been something really special. By the looks of things, this film would have been a huge, crazy special effects extravaganza (with said special effects set to be carried out by the wonderful WETA Workshop) - Wonder Woman flying through Themyscira; cars falling through the sky and exploding in mid-air. The sort of huge and spectacular superhero flick that would have certainly convinced a lot of people into theatres. Hey, if Transformers can make a billion, this surely could have.
