5 Comic Books That Would Be More Successful On TV Than Film

3. Deadpool

Deadpool We haven€™t been graced with a proper Deadpool featured film yet, but unfortunately we have already got to see the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Director Gavin Hood cast Ryan Reynolds, a perfect actor for the part of Deadpool and completely changed the fan favorite character. The film was not well received by critics and fans were outraged at how Hood treated the €œMerc with a Mouth.€ Reynolds is still attached to play the character in a planned reboot, but it might be years before fans can see him play Wade Wilson again. Although Reynolds' busy schedule would not allow him to appear on a regular tv series, the character may benefit from a television series leading up to a feature film. Deadpool's comedic and violent elements would work well on television network that allows cursing and extreme violence. HBO has produced series such as True Blood and Boardwalk Empire and they have pushed the boundaries of sex, and violence on television. HBO would make a great home for Deadpool and his adventures as a super powered mercenary, and it would be a great property to compete with Showtime€™s Dexter. Both characters are ruthless killers, but are both anti-heroes and have a very dark sense of humor. A Deadpool movie would be great, but an entire series would be even better.
