AKA - "The Director of Boyz 'N' The Hood" Never has there been a stranger career than that of John Singleton. Starting out with an amazing debut that genuinely shocked audiences with it's depiction of Los Angeles and it's street crime in Boyz 'N' The Hood, he's never recaptured that magic and now it seems that he's content to work as a director for hire. If you had just finished watching his debut and I'd told you that the same man would go on to direct 2 Fast, 2 Furious and the Jason Bourne film for idiots Abduction, you would think that I was having you on. Never has a director flushed their good name down the toilet so badly as John Singleton. Yet, we still afford him some good grace as we so desperately want him to deliver another Boyz, even though it looks like he's set to cash in and make his money making forgettable mainstream nonsense.
