You'd be forgiven for thinking the Fantastic Four trailer was a compilation of shots from the previous decades most divisive superhero movie: there's New York getting destroyed by massive blue explosions, just like in Watchmen; and there's a plane flying over nondescript countryside, just like in The Dark Knight Rises; oh, and look, here's a base set in snowy isolation, just like in Man Of Steel; now they're in a landscape just like Svartalfheim from Thor: The Dark World. Clearly Interstellar's not the only movie Fantastic Four lifts a little too jarringly from. This could be just poor coincidence, but if that's true then it shows a bit of unawareness of the wider genre and lack of originality when crafting imagery - surely Josh Trank, the man behind Chronicle, can do better. Although it at first seems really picky, The Dark Knight Rises plane similarity is probably the most egregious - the plane in both movies is the same design, with only a paint job to distinguish the pair.
