5 Fresh Monsters That Should Be Used in Films

4. Polong

What Is It; A Malaysian variant on the idea of the homunculus, an artificial man created through alchemy. It is a little person, under an inch high, formed through a magic spell and grown in the blood of a murdered man. Once it emerges, it must be given blood from the creator€™s finger. Then it gains a demonic familiar in the shape of a cricket-like insect called a pelesit. This will burrow into the chosen human victims, while the polong goes in behind to drink the blood and infect and drive the host to madness. (Yes, it is drinking blood like a vampire, but when did you last see one that attacked like this?) How It Could Be Used. Could be a basis for one of those films where you don€™t know if it€™s in someone€™s head or not. Or a combination of Fantastic Voyage meets Shivers.
