What Is It; The word originates from Arabian myths. They have long nails and matted hair with hooves for feet and can change their shape and imitate human voices. They feed on human flesh from corpses or unwary travellers. Their traditional living areas are graveyards, abandoned areas and deserts. How It Could Be Used; So we have shape-changing monsters that eat people. They could be used for an exercise in paranoia. Or it could be a variant on the idea that vampires used to be used for, of the more wealthy class that feeds off the people below it. An alternative would be a story about somebody wondering what the neighbours up to?
