2. New Mutants
The New Mutants are very often overlooked by fans, but there is a lot of potential to explore new characters. After all, no matter how many epic adventures we go on, it's important to remember that Xavier built a school for frightened children coming to terms with the fact that they were born different. New Mutants could feature Banshee, now older, teaching younger mutants the ropes of being a mutant, while dealing with a hateful world. I don't know which mutants they necessarily would feature, though I'd love to see Wolfsbane, Magik, Domino, among others here. They could interact with the more down-to-earth side of the X-Universe, dealing with anti-mutant activists. Since Stryker is pretty much dead, they could introduce the Friends of Humanity or just bring back the Sentinels. Or that demon bear - that was a cool arc. However, the real strength here would be the vulnerability of the children. It's important that they get strong child actors for the roles, since the characters need to be high school - or even middle school - aged. That way, when cruelty is committed against them, it seems all the more horrifying and harsh. The mutant students have been overlooked over the course of the entire series. It's time to take a closer look.
