5 Great British & Irish Comedy Films You Probably Missed

4. Festival

Sex, self obsession and stoned theatre troupes.

Annie Griffin's black comedy centres around three comedians gunning for the top comedy prizes at that year's Edinburgh Fringe as well as Lyndsey Marshal's character, Faith, making her debut in a one-woman show.

Stephen Mangan, Chris O'Dowd and Amelia Bullmore feature in this multi-stranded, black comedy, released in 2005.

The intended ambience throughout the piece is very well replicated, much due to the fact that some of the shots were taken during the Edinburgh Fringe itself.

Festival went on to win the Best Comedy Film at the British Comedy Awards, but has not had as much mainstream success at it should. One to watch for fellow performers, directors, and even, 'dancing' techies.
