5. Juggernaut
Any mutant that debuted in
X-Men: The Last Stand deserves a pass. Juggernaut is one of the most popular, most destructive X-Men villains of all time and his familial connection to Charles Xavier helps ground his backstory on a human level. He can be much more than a hired gun with dialogue that matches a Dave Chappelle impersonation of Rick James. There is no sign of 21st Century Fox rebooting the
X-Men franchise anytime soon. With
X-Men: Days of Future Past mucking around with time travel, however, perhaps the Juggernauts cinematic history can be rewritten. If not, then Juggernaut can be saved and later used as one of the first villains out the gate in a rebooted continuity. Juggernaut is just too cool-looking of a villain to never again appear on the silver screen. His power set ought to be showcased by visual effects that are already far superior to what was used for the character in 2006. The studio cannot let Brett Ratner prove the phrase Nothing can stop the Juggernaut false.
