5 Great Films Still To Come In 2012

Summer may be almost over, but there's still plenty of great cinema to come this year.

With the apparent end of summer (hate to sound like a broken record, but did it ever start), children returning to school, and the whimpering arrival of Total Recall, it€™s clear the blockbuster season is well and truly over. And in retrospect, we can say it hasn€™t been at all bad. While many films disappointed after high levels of anticipation (The Amazing Spider-Man, Prometheus), they were still entertaining and far from terrible. Conversely, the few real stinkers that did rear their ugly heads failed as badly at the box office as they did with the critics. And then there were the real big hitters. When was the last time when the top three at the box office (The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises and The Hunger Games) were all great films that not only reached their lofty expectations, but exceeded them? Pair that with an surprising start to the year with the likes of 21 Jump Street and The Woman in Black, it€™s fair to say 2012 hasn€™t been a bad year for film so far. There€™s still four more months of the year left and as we brace ourselves for the onslaught of winter, there€™s a lot of interesting and exciting films that will be gracing cinema screens before 2012 bows out. It€™s already clear many will be stinkers (Frankenweenie jumps to mind here), but there€™s plenty to get excited about. Here are five of the most anticipated films of the year we€™re yet to see. Of course, there's many more that are sure to wow, but these five are set to help make 2012 a truly memorable year.
