5. Lumiere the Candlestick, from Beauty & the Beast
OK, so technically Lumiere is a human but for the purposes of this piece we'll ignore that and focus on his time as a candlestick. Cursed along with his other servants when his master mistreats a witch, the quintessential French ladies man is the most handy candle on the block. Not only can he light your way, he can also prepare a meal, offer advice and boy can he put on a show. We don't now if it's the accent or the fact that he's partly made from wax but we've never seen a performance quite like his when he invites the sexy young Belle to "be our guest", and his bromance with the grumpy old clock Cogsworth is almost as captivating as Belle and the Beast's own love story. There are plenty of other inanimate stars out there just waiting for their chance to shine. There will also be some we've missed. What's your favourite performance by a piece of furniture?
